Rendering Working Group of XBRL International issues first Candidate Recommendation of the Inline XBRL Specification Inline XBRL is a standard for embedding XBRL fragments into an HTML document. The objective is to provide documents which can be viewed in a browser while making use of XBRL tags which can be processed automatically by consuming applications.
Minor "Errata Corrections" issued to the Base Specification The Base Specification and Maintenance Working Group has issued a new version of the XBRL 2.1 Specification containing a small number of additional minor errata corrections. This is the first set of corrections issued in 18 months which demonstrates the stability of the specification. Accompanying this document is an updated conformance suite.
XBRL International constitutes and names members of its Best Practices Board XBRL International Inc. (XII) announced today that it had constituted its Best Practices Board (BPB), a body established to provide guidance and materials reflecting the best practices developed during implementations of XBRL around the world. It is expected that this will help facilitate and accelerate adoption of the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) globally.

Second Public Working Draft of Part 1 of the Versioning Specification Published The Versioning Working Group has published the first Second Working Draft of Part 1 (Report Content) of the Versioning Specification. This specification defines the semantics of the versioning report. Part 2 will define the syntax used to express the report and is still being worked on by the Working Group.
"Final" XBRL US (2008) Taxonomies granted "Acknowledged" status by XBRL International XBRL International has formally "Acknowledged" the series of taxonomies published by XBRL US in May 2008, which supersede those issued in 2005 and 2006. XBRL International appoints Gilles Maguet as Secretary General of XBRL Europe XBRL International, Inc. announced today that Gilles Maguet has been appointed Secretary General of XBRL Europe, the organization recently formed by XBRL International and the European jurisdictions to coordinate XBRL actions in Europe. In this newly created position, Mr. Maguet will lead the organization’s efforts in Europe to promote adoption of XBRL and interactive data for business reporting and will report jointly to the Executive Committee of XBRL Europe and to Anthony Fragnito, CEO of XBRL International.

Best Practices Board Application Deadline Extended The XII International Steering Committee approved a motion to extend the deadline for applications to the Best Practices Board to May 9th, 2008. While it is very pleased by the number and quality of the applications received by the deadline the interest expressed in the Best Practice Board leading up to the Eindhoven conference has encouraged a brief extension of the deadline.

Second Public Working Draft of the Registry Specification Published A set of specifications produced by the Formula Working Group that defines a framework for registries and conformance suites has been published. The initial focus is on a Functions Registry to support the Formula Specification.

The IFRS-GP taxonomy is intended to allow profit-oriented entities to prepare XBRL-based financial statements according to IFRS. This includes, but is not limited to, consolidated publicly listed entities, parent entity financial statements, and non-consolidated entities.
