Organisations in countries or regions which do not yet have a jurisdiction are encouraged to form one. This approach to collaboration is the most effective way of promoting XBRL in the area and of gaining its benefits.
If you are interested in forming a jurisdiction, please contact XBRL International via the e-mail address int-jurisdev@xbrl.org to discuss options and the way ahead. XBRL International has a special group, the Jurisdiction Development Subcommittee, which is dedicated to helping the formation of new jurisdictions. XBRL International has recently published a new version of the "Jurisdiction Jump-Start Kit" and other related information prepared to guide those interesting in forming a jurisdiction or developing an initial start-up organisation. For an overview of the Jump-Start Kit, please click here. To obtain the full document , please email int-jurisdev@xbrl.org. The Jump-Start Kit is available in English and Spanish.
Until a jurisdiction is formed in your country, XBRL provides a Direct Participation program which enables you to participate in XBRL International activities. Membership fees are paid directly to XBRL International and a portion of the fees will be allocated to the designated Established jurisdiction. To become a Direct Participant, please fill out the Organisation Registration Form, and select “Developing Jurisdictions” from the Jurisdiction drop-down list. You will be contacted regarding the details of this program and can elect to receive the program Direct Participant program document in English or Spanish.
