SEC publishes Interactive Data Test Suite
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has published the latest version of its Interactive Data Test Suite.
The public test suite helps software developers test their products prior to submission to EDGAR. Specifically, the suite tests software to see whether it will generate XBRL reports that successfully pass the SEC’s validation tests and would therefore be accepted.
The suite consists of numerous data samples, including reports, schema and linkbases, categorised as to whether they violate a validation check, and if so, which one and whether it would result in a warning or, more seriously, in an error that would cause rejection by EDGAR. These are free for anyone to test against their software.
