XBRL Europe elects a new chair
XBRL Europe announced the election this week of Thomas Verdin as the new Chair of the organisation and we offer our hearty congratulations. With two decades of dedicated service to the XBRL community, Verdin brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to his new role.
As Chair, Thomas will lead XBRL Europe in its mission to promote transparency, standardisation, and innovation in financial reporting across Europe.
We join XBRL Europe in extending our gratitude to Bruno Tesnière, who has expertly guided the organisation since 2016. In his new role as Vice Chair, Tesnière will support the leadership transition.
“XBRL plays a pivotal role in modernising financial, non-financial, and regulatory reporting. I look forward to collaborating with our members, regulators, and industry partners to drive positive change in Europe.” says M. Verdin.
Reflecting on his tenure, Tesnière remarked, “After eight years at the helm of XBRL Europe, it’s time to pass the torch to a younger generation. I am proud of the progress we have made in advancing digitalisation in financial and regulatory reporting. ”
Join Thomas at the next XBRL Europe general assembly meeting in Malta on 23 May, where members will elect their representatives to the Executive Committee.
