“Uniform Presentation” in the Netherlands

Posted on December 4, 2014 by Dave Nitchman

“Uniform Presentation” in the Netherlands – With a 1 January 2017 target date to eliminate all paper filings with the Business Registry in the Netherlands, attention has turned to making digital filing using XBRL easier for accountants and businesses. Specifically, the Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants has developed a “Uniform Presentation” (UP) specification so that XBRL instance data is displayed the same or nearly identically when created by different software applications. The UP Specification is available (in English) for review. At XII we are studying this effort and expect to call for input from members as part of our comments back to our Dutch colleagues. If you are interested in Assurance, you should get up to speed on this one.

A presentation on the UP Specification from the Eurofiling conference is available.  XBRL Netherlands is holding an event to explain the initiative in greater detail.
