Better, faster reports
The XBRL Specifications Working Group has updated its Working Group Note (WGN) on the use of HTML in Inline XBRL reports, including additional information around the preparation of text block tags.
This WGN incorporates some additional guidance for software developers and technical users involved in the preparation of Inline XBRL reports.
Inline XBRL uses HTML for its presentation and the WGN, first published in December 2022, provides enhanced guidance for performant and easily consumable structured digital reports.
The WGN already includes hints that can be included to improve the user experience when using Inline XBRL Viewer software and guidance on the selection of HTML tags.
It now provides additional guidance on HTML compatibility, and additional information on the preparation of text block tags.
