Managing Entity Specific Disclosures – Members’ Forum Webinar
XBRL International Members’ Forum Webinar
Monday, 12 February
13:00 – 14:00 UTC
The next Members’ Forum webinar is on the topic of Managing Entity Specific Disclosures (ESDs). The webinar will feature a panel of experts and look at the issues created by company extensions – one of the primary means used to address report ESDs. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about the options for entity-specific reporting and the advantages and challenges this raises for preparers, advisors, auditors, accountants, regulators and users. This webinar will be of interest to anyone involved in XBRL and securities filings, business registrar filings and other corporate reporting frameworks.
XBRL International’s Entity Specific Disclosure Taskforce (“ESDTF”) has focussed on identifying and recommending mechanisms for including entity-specific disclosures in XBRL reports to optimise their use for automated processing by users.
The task force has looked primarily at:
- Entity-specific disclosures in financial reporting.
- XBRL syntax for working with entity-specific disclosures (ESDs), with and without preparer extension taxonomies.
- Interaction with filing rules related directly to the XBRL syntax for ESDs but not overall rules for what to tag and how to identify the correct taxonomy item(s)
Our panel includes the Co-Chairs of the ESDTF and a number of other experts.
- Rita Clijmans, Senior Techinical Manager – IFRS Taxonomy, International Accounting Standards Board (IASB)
- Louis Matherne, Chief of Taxonomy Development, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
