Becoming Meta
The FASB has released for comment a note on its latest plans to utilise a “meta model”, a mechanism to add a range of metadata to the US GAAP taxonomy. What’s it for? The meta model is intended to empower preparers, aid data users, and enhance business rule creation by providing relationship-rich tagging guidance. We think it’s intriguing.
None the wiser? Help is at hand! There will be a deep dive into these plans at Data Amplified next week, presented by David Shaw from the FASB and Campbell Pryde from XBRL US. We look forward to seeing you there and talking it over! But if you can’t wait till Tuesday, please have a look at the release here. Your comments are keenly sought!
