Call for volunteers: Join ESMA’s consultative working group
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) is seeking expressions of interest for its Consultative Working Group (CWG) within the Disclosure Working Group (DWG). The CWG plays a crucial role in shaping ESMA’s objectives of investor protection, market integrity, and financial stability through single rulebook work and strengthening supervisory approaches and practices across Member States.
ESMA invites data experts, including XBRL specialists, to apply and contribute to the group’s efforts in enhancing public disclosures and data usability. The DWG focuses on digital disclosure requirements, usability of data, and promoting effective financial markets and stability.
Members of the CWG are expected to provide expert advice to the DWG, supporting ESMA’s initiatives in completing the single rulebook, promoting data usability, facilitating evidence-based supervision, and fostering supervisory convergence.
Here at XBRL International we strongly encourage industry experts to consider putting their hands up to be considered for the CWG. Embedding a digital orientation into securities disclosures and market functioning in Europe is important and this will be a vital part of the process.
Interested experts are encouraged to submit their applications by 6 June 2024.
