EBA and ESMA release final SREP guidelines
The European Banking Authority (EBA) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) have published final guidelines on common procedures and methodologies for the supervisory review and evaluation process (SREP) for investment firms. These are based on the EU’s Investment Firms Directive (IFD) and aim to harmonise the supervisory practices around the monitoring and assessment of these firms. With a wealth of methodologies and criteria now in place, it would seem high time for a conversation about digitisation of this process.
