EBA releases revised list of validation rules
The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published its regular updated list of validation rules for its reporting standards, as encapsulated in its Technical Standards and Guidelines. These rules can be used by filers to automatically check XBRL reports for data quality issues before filing.
The EBA’s validation rules are extensive and are continually being reviewed and refined. The revised list highlights rules that have been deactivated either for incorrectness or for triggering IT problems, and should no longer be used in validation. The EBA has also reactivated certain rules, which should once more be applied going forward.
