EBA updates Reporting Framework and Pillar 3 ITS
The European Banking Authority (EBA) has updated its reporting framework v3.0, and its Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on institutions’ Pillar 3 public disclosures.
These changes are driven by the European Commission’s adoption of the ITS on supervisory reporting (v3.0), which includes changes introduced by the revised Capital Requirements Regulations (CRR2) and the Prudential Backstop Regulation. This has also led to a revision of the mapping between quantitative disclosure data and supervisory reporting, as captured in the two ITSs, with the aim of facilitating institutions’ compliance and improving the consistency and quality of the information disclosed.
The updates also reflect the EBA’s release of phase 1 of its technical package on the reporting framework v3.0, providing the standards and specifications for meeting its reporting requirements. It includes the XBRL taxonomies – as well as validation rules, the Data Point Model (DPM) data dictionary alongside an updated DPM query tool, and a range of specialised reporting requirements.
