ECB publishes Q2 statistics

They show that at the middle of the year the capital adequacy of banks, in aggregate, remains strong, and the level of non-performing loans (NPLs) has continued to fall. Of somewhat more concern is the rise of so-called ‘Stage 2’ loans, which are causing lenders some initial concern and may well be a precursor to an increase in NPLs. Presumably Q3 will be the one to watch. We are always interested to see these quarterly figures as a practical application of XBRL.
