ESMA launches call for evidence on distributed ledger technology
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published a call for evidence on distributed ledger technology (DLT). It seeks input on the use of DLT for trading and settlement and on the need to amend regulatory technical standards on regulatory reporting and transparency requirements, raising the question of how to effectively provide regulators with access to information. “The aim is to ensure more efficient, secure, and cost-effective management of the data stored on DLTs while preserving its quality, usability and comparability,” says ESMA. If you wish to contribute your ideas or concerns, comments are due by 4 March 2022.
