IFRS foundation launches webinar series on sustainability disclosure

Posted on May 25, 2024 by Editor

The IFRS Foundation has announced a new webinar series, ‘Perspectives on sustainability disclosure,’ aimed at helping market participants navigate sustainability reporting. Kicking off this month, these webinars will feature expert presentations and engaging discussions designed for both new and seasoned preparers.

Each session will focus on different aspects of sustainability disclosure, providing practical insights. The first webinar, ‘The business case for early jurisdictional adoption’, is now open for registration. Subsequent topics will explore the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, including industry-based disclosures, system upgrades for sustainability data, and the transition for companies already following TCFD recommendations.

This initiative is part of the IFRS Foundation’s broader effort to support the application of the Sustainability Disclosure Standards introduced in 2023. By offering these webinars, the Foundation aims to ease the transition and promote the adoption of robust sustainability practices across jurisdictions.

Providing this kind of capacity building activity will, in the long term, help to enhance the quality and consistency of sustainability reporting.
