Review, Analysis and Audit Software now eligible for XBRL Software Certification
The XBRL Software Certification™ programme is being expanded to include a new category of software intended to cover end-user software products that consume XBRL reports for review, analysis or audit purposes. The new category is in addition to the existing categories for XBRL processors and XBRL report creation tools.
The change is intended to address the growing market for XBRL and iXBRL audit and review tools, driven by the upcoming ESEF mandate for iXBRL filings in Europe, and other projects around the world.
XBRL International is running a short “sunrise” period, allowing vendors to get certified ahead of an initial public announcement, currently planned for 16 September.
If you have software that you would like to get certified, or if you would like more information on the changes, please contact certification@xbrl.org.
