SEC publishes draft 2024 Security-Based Swap (SBS) taxonomy
Late last year the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) adopted its final rule on Security-Based Swap Execution and Registration of Security-Based Swap Execution Facilities (SBSEF). Following this, the SEC has now published an initial draft of the 2024 Security-Based Swap (SBS) taxonomy to facilitate the implementation of the rule.
This SBSEF rule addresses critical conflict of interest and efficiency issues in the world of security-based swaps and establishes a structured framework for their registration and regulation. Swap trading entities are obliged to provide a range of compliance, financial strength, conflict of interest and risk management information to EDGAR.
The draft Security-Based Swap (SBS) taxonomy will facilitate digital filing. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft taxonomy files available on the SEC’s website and provide feedback by 27 May 2024.
