Welcoming inaugural Board members to the ISSB, including digital reporting maestro Leng Bing
The IFRS Foundation Trustees have announced the appointment of four inaugural members of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), joining the Chair and Vice Chair. We are particularly pleased to congratulate long-time friend of XBRL International, Mr Leng Bing, whose experience and acumen we are sure will be of tremendous value to the ISSB as it establishes digital-first global sustainability reporting standards.
As our readers may remember, Leng Bing served as a member of the Board of Directors of XBRL International from 2014 to 2020. He joins the ISSB from the Chinese Ministry of Finance where he is a Director in the Accounting Regulatory Department, responsible for sustainability reporting initiatives. He has initiated and led the implementation of several reporting-related programmes, including the development of XBRL taxonomies to allow digital disclosure in China.
The appointees will start their roles as full-time ISSB members next month. The Trustees note that they expect to bring the Board to quorum with further appointments soon, with the recruitment process currently well advanced.
