XBRL standards board publishes key updates on Digital Signatures and xBRL-CSV constraints
The XBRL Standards Board (XSB) has approved two important updates to emerging new XBRL specifications.
The Digital Signatures in XBRL specification has reached its second Candidate Recommendation stage, with an updated version and conformance suite now available. This revision incorporates refinements based on early implementation feedback, bringing it closer to finalisation. Digital Signatures in XBRL aims to standardise the use of digital signatures in XBRL and Inline XBRL reports, enhancing security and trust in digital business reporting.
Meanwhile, a requirements document for the new xBRL-CSV Table Constraints specification has been published. xBRL-CSV is designed to handle large, structured tabular data efficiently. The Table Constraints specification extends xBRL-CSV by enabling the validation of structural constraints, even on very large reports, ensuring data integrity and quality. The XSB is seeking feedback on both the requirements document and the initial Public Working Draft of this specification.
These updates reflect the ongoing evolution of XBRL to support high-quality, secure, and scalable reporting. We encourage stakeholders to review and provide input on these developments.
